CMT Flooring are specialists in the sanding and resealing of Parquet Block, Granwood and Strip Flooring found in school halls and classrooms

The process for sanding and resealing your wooden floor would be

  • We initially sand the wood floor using a coarse-grit paper, usually 40grit, to remove the existing finish and any marks or dents in the surface of the floor.
  • We then use edging sanders and corner sanders to sand the perimeters and corners of the room
  • We then use a medium-grit paper, this is generally a 60grit, to continue to remove any marks or other imperfections remaining to leave the wood floor with a smoother finish ready for the final sanding
  • Finally we use a fine 120 grit paper to leave the floor with a fine finish ready for the application of the floor lacquer

After the sanding has been completed, the floor is fully vacuumed to remove any dust or debris. We will then apply one base coat of primer followed by 2 top coats of floor seal, the finish can be either an Extra Matt, Matt, Silk Matt (Satin) or Gloss finish
