New Whittington School, Chesterfield

Paul at New Whittington Community Primary School contacted us for the repair and restoration to their existing parquet block floor.

An area of the parquet floor had risen up from the sub-floor and was obviously a health and safety issue for the school and the existing floor finish was tired and worn in places and had a build up of polish around the edges which needed to be removed.

The area of parquet flooring that had come loose was carefully lifted out and then the sub-floor was cleaned of any loose debris and checked to ensure there was no moisture coming through the screed.

The parquet blocks were then re-fitted using Bona R848 silane adhesive.  The whole floor was sanded to a fine finish and gaps between blocks were filled using a mixture of resin filler and wood dust from the previous sanding.  Extra sanding was required to the perimeter edges where a build up of previous finishes had occurred
